PM holds talks with Tibetan officials

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Saturday held talks in Lhasa with Secretary of Communist Party of Tibet Zhang Quingli on the first day of his China visit.
Nepal began a six-day visit Saturday.
He assured Zhang Nepal’s won’t permit anti-China activities on its soil.
Nepal at the request of China has agreed to deploy Armed Police Force along the border to stop activities of supporters of the Free Tibet Movement.
The prime minister asked Zhang to extend the Beijing, Lhasa rail link to Kathmandu.

One Nepali shot dead in USA

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Surendra Dangol, 40, in Boston
was shot dead at a store in Boston Saturday.
He started work one week ago at the store owned by a Pakistani.
Dangol migrated to USA three years ago.

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Police shot dead Omkar Shahi in Banke Sunday.
Several other members of a terai rebel group are believed to be injured.

Action recommended against AIG Kalayan Tilamshina

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Action has been recommended against AIG Kalayan Timalshina for his involvement in the $ 300,000 theft, Rajdhani reports.
The recommendation was made by an investigation team led DIG
Rajendra Singh Bhandari.
The report was submitted one week ago to IGP Ramesh Chand Thakuri.
Timalshina has also been accused for involvement in freeing abductor of trader Sanjaya Surekha and releasing 20 kg silver of a trader without paying customs.

Prabin Karki banned for one year

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Prabin Karki, defender of Three Star Clum, has been banned from all football activities for one year by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for assaulting referee Madhisudan Khanal during a match.
A disciplinary committee headed by Narayan Manandhar found Karki guilty.
