25 parties say they are committed to promulgate constitution within 28May deadline

Kathmandu, 9 March: All 25 parties in the constituent assembly (CA) Tuesday said they are committed to promulgate a constitution by the 28 May deadline.
The constitution has to be promulgated to institutionalize a republic within 80 days.
But leaders of major parties have been publicly saying the basis law won’t be completed by the deadline.
The CA completed discussion on recommendations of 11 subject committees for article to be incorporated in a constitution but they haven’t been approved.
There are fundamental differences between three major parties with Maoists demanding a communist system.
The parties expressed their commitment at a meeting of the main constitution drafting committee which was to present a draft to the CA 5 March.,
The CA is meeting later Tuesday to fix a new schedule for the 10th time for the constitution promulgation.

Six children injured in bomb explosion

Kathmandu, 9 March: Six children were injured Tuesday in an explosion at a health post in Sunsari.
The explosive was hidden in a tin box.

Nepal beats Kuwait

Kathmandu, 9 March: Nepal strengthened its position to enter the semi-final of the ACC I-16 Championship by defeating Kuwait by 101 runs Tuesday.
Kuwait was bowled out for 82 runs in 25 overs as they chased a target of 184 runs.
Nepal plays Bahrain Thrsday in the last league match.
