HPLM meets
Kathmandu, 21 April: High-level political mechanism of Maoists, Nepali Congress and UML meets under the chairmanship of Prachanda Wednesday to discuss among other issues, the extension of a tenure of the constituent assembly (CA) which ends 28 May.
UML parliamentary party called for extension of the two-year tenure concluding a constitution can’t be promulgated by the deadline another 39 days.
Maoists have demanded a formation of a national government under its leadership as a pre-condition for the extension of the deadline.
Nepali Congress central committee is meeting before the mechanism meets to discuss its position.

Maoists close down accounts departments
Kathmandu, 21 April: Maoist student activists Wednesday closed down accounts departments of boarding schools for the third successive day nation-wide Wednesday demanding 25 percent hike in admission with the beginning of academic session.
Maoists have threatened complete closure of schools from next week if the hike isn’t reversed.
