Kathmandu, 7April: A supreme court bench issued a stay order Wednesday not to execute a cabinet decision to award a contract to an Indian security press to print machine readable passports (MRPs).
Further discussion on a writ petition filed by two advocates will be begin 12 April.
The stay order was issued by Justice Suhila Karki.
The government decision came under heavy discussion in parliament Wednesday for disregarding suggestion of parliament’s public account committee to print passports only through international tender.

CA session again postponed indefinitely
Kathmandu, 7 April: The constituent assembly (CA) was again postponed indefinitely Wednesday after meeting briefly for one minute.
The assembly passed a resolution condoling the death of Girija Prasad Koirala.
CA hasn’t sent suggestions of eight of 11 subject committees on articles to be incorporated in a constitution draft to be prepared by a constitution drafting committee.
With 51 days remaining to promulgate a constitution, it’s almost certain a constitution won’t be issued 28 May.
Political uncertainly will ensue.

Curfew in slapped Humla district
Kathmandu, 7 April: A curfew was slapped on Humla district headquarters Wednesday from noon following a dispute and clashes between lMaoists and Nepali Congress workers.
Congress called a strike protesting Maoist excesses..
Police fired teargas and rubber bullets to control the crowd..
Maoists destroyed the Congress district office.

Nepal enters final of ACC Elite Cup 2010 tournament in Kuwait
Kathmandu, 7 April: Nepal entered the finals of the ACC Elite Cup 2010 tournament hosted by Kuwait Wednesday.
Nepal will meet Afghanistan in the final.
Nepal beat Malaysia by eight runs.
Nepal bowled out Malaysia for 163 runs after setting Malaysia a target of 271 runs for the loss of six wickets.
