EU pressure on govt.

Kathmandu, 10 May: EU envoys asked the government to be flexible during a collective meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala Monday.
The request came following a Maoist withdrawal of an indefinite strike in six days.
EU is considered Maoist friendly.
US Ambassador Scott Delisi was also present.
Koirala said after the meeting it was for the two conflicting parties to decide and said the envoys presented their ‘suggestions’
She repeated the position of major ruling parties for the formation of a national government.
Maoist Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattaraai said the prime minister’s letter to Prachanda Sunday asking the chairman to sit down for a ldialogue was only formal after a meeting of the Maoist standing committee.
