Parliament session hasn’t begun (DEVELOPING STORY)

Kathmandu, 28 May: Parliament session hasn’t begun even three hours after it was scheduled to meet at eight in the morning Friday to amend the interim constitution to extend the CA tenure by one more year.
Leaders of parties have assembled at the Birendra International Convention Center which is the venue where inter and intra-party talks are being held to break a deadlock.
A Maoist standing committee Friday decided not to support a government bill to extend the CA tenure without an agreement, reporters from the venue said quoting unnamed Maoist lawmakers.
The parliament session hssn't begun because of delay in coming to an agreement.

$50,000 international award announced

Kathmandu, 28 May: Government has announced a $50,000 Gautam Buddha International Peace Award to be award every year beginning 2011 to a person for promoting international world peace.
Former Nepali UN official Kul Chandra Gautam heads a five-member selection committee.

Two more Nepali speaking people killed in Meghalaya

Kathmandu, 28 May: Two more Nepali speaking people were killed in Meghalaya Wednesday raising their death toll to 19 in the state, Nagarik reports from Siliguri.
Their abandoned bodies were found in a jungle in Nangstin.

Unity Life International GM arrested

Kathmandu, 28 May: Sishir Yogi, general manager of Unity Life International, was arrested by police Thursday.
Cases are being filed at a Lalitpur court against Yogi along with four others.
Cases have been filed against two directors Bhim Gurung and Netra Rajbanshi.
Chairman Kashiram Gurung and Managing Director Bishnu Chetri are missing.
The networking company has been accused of illegally siphoning billions of rupees from thousands of people at home and abroad.
