PM Nepal offers more self-confessions [ DEVELOPING STORY]

Kathmandu, 23 May: Maoist central committee decision on whether to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly (CA) had not come until 7.30 in the evening Sunday.
The main opposition is crucial because the tenure can’t be extended without the main opposition support.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal also offered self-confession at a meeting of 10 ruling parties Sunday for his statements of a constituent assembly (CA) last week.
Tem parties objected his comments at the meeting.
“Can’t encircle him more,” TMLP leader Hridesh Tripathi said after the meet when questioned he was satisfied with the premier’s self-confession.
The 10 parties asked Maoists to cooperate in extending the CA tenure as there was no alternative.
NC issued a whip Sunday asking all lawmakers to be present when debate begins Monday in parliament on a government bill to extend the CA tenure.
Voting is expected Friday the day the two-year mandate of the CA ends.

Planned return of former king delayed by bad weather

Kathmandu, 23 May: The scheduled return of former King Gyanendra to the capital Sunday by a regular commercial flight from Nepalgunj was disrupted
by bad weather.
The then king was greeted with traditional panche baja and flowers by thousands of supporters when he walked from Tribhuvan Chowk to Bageshwori temple to offer special worship and prayers.
He talked with the region’s people and media persons.
‘I wish the people of the region well,” he said.

Strains of HIV-2 detected in Dandeldhura

Kathmandu, 23 May: Strains of the deadly HIV-2 were detected for the first time in Nepal at Jogbuda in Dandeldhura in the far-West.
Tests conducted in Bangkok confirmed the strain that causes AIDS.
A woman and man were infected by the virus.
