Madesh front forned task force to resolve differences

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: A front of four Madesh parties Saturday formed a four-member task force to resolve internal differences following defections in a group that voted for Maoist in the second round of runoff elections for prime minister.
Eleven members of MJFN led by Upendra Yadav defected and voted for the main opposition candidate Prachanda.defying a front decision.
The task force will also discuss with other parties formation of a national ahead elections for government chief next week.
The meeting reviewed the current political situation, including four rounds of elections for prime minister.
The front will discussed future strategy as well ahead of the fourth runoff election for government chief to succeed Madhav Kumar Nepal who remains inoffice nearly six weeks after resignation.
UML has also convened a meeting of 22 parties.
Both the UML and the front have boycotted the runoff elections.
UML leaders with Nepali Congress and other parties a solution to the political standoff after a deadlock in voting.

The day marks the end of the monsoon season.

Polio drops administered

Kathmandu, 14 Aug,: Polio drops are being to children in 18 districts, including three in the Valley, Saturday and Sunday.
Drops are also being administered in terai districts adjoining India where the crippling disease has yet to be eradicated.
Nepal has been declared a polio free country.
