Proposal to elect Prachanda PM rejected (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 2Aug: A proposal to elect Maoist Chairman Prachanda was rejected by a majority vote in the 599-member parliament Monday in a delayed vote.
Voting started four hours behind schedule.
Prachanda received only 259 votes in his favour, Speaker Subash Nemwang announced.
Altogether 144 legislators votes against his candidacy while 208 lawmakers abstained.
Voting on his challenger NC Vice-chairman Ram Chandra Paudel is in progress.
It will most certainly be inconclusive.
Maoists have 237 seats in parliament indicating 21 legislators from parties other than UML and Madesh front voted for Prachanda.
