NC DRAWS ATTENTION OF SPEAKER

Kathmandu, 7 Sept. NC lawmakers Tuesday drew the attention of Speaker Subash Nemwang demanding probe into an audio tape recording in which Maoist Spokesman Krishna Bahadur Mahara asked Rs 500 million from an unidentified Chinese to buy votes in parliament for Chairman Prachanda who is contesting for prime minister.
Nemwang said he’ll consult parties for follow-up action.
Representatives of ‘civil society’ also presented a memorandum to Nemwang demanding follow-up action.

PHARPING JEEP ACCIDENT DEATH TOLL CLIMBS TO FIVE

Kathmandu, 7 Sept.: Five persons, including two Indians, died in an overnight jeep accident Pharping in the capital outskirt when a jeep veered 500 feet off a road and fell into a swollen rivulet.
Five injured are undergoing treatment at hospitals in the capital.
