UNMIN TENURE EXTENDED FOUR MONTHS

Kathmandu, 6 Sept.: Cabinet Monday extended the tenure on UMNMIN that ends 15 September by another four months as the security council discusses Nepal in New York Tuesday.
The council is discussing Nepal amid growing demand in major political parties to limit the activities of the UN political arm in Nepal by taking Nepal Army off its watch and keeping only the PLA under UN observation.
UN is a front for western countries that are funding UNMIN activities in strategic Nepal, sand-witched between Asian giants, India and China.
Cabinet authorized Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal whether to limit UNMIN’s through consultations with others.
There were differences between Maoists and ruling parties NC and UML at a special monitoring committee headed by the premier Monday with Maoists demanding the tenure and mandate should be extended for six months without change.
Maoists, complain of growing foreign interference in Nepal, but are pushing for the continued political presence of UN to manage political affairs.

Former king inaugurates

Kathmandu, 6 Sept.: Former King Gyanendra Monday morning, amid cheers of hundreds of supporters, inaugurated a temple of Risehwor in the outskirts capital.
Television footage showed the ousted king being welcomed by hundreds of supporters as security personnel came under heavy pressure tof control th crowd.
Women in red offered the king flowers and greeted him at the temple where he worshipped.
The then king walked 2 km to the temple for 30 minutes to inaugurate the temple for which he contributed Rs 100,000.
He interacted with the people and took photographs with them.

Teacher shot dead in Bara

Kathmandu, 6 Sept. English teacher Sabash Pandey was shot dead by an unknown group at a village in Bara Monday.
He was returning home on a motorcycle.
District headquarters Kalaiya was tense after the shooting.
His nephew was also killed earlier.

India’s main opposition demands probe into controversial tape recording

Kathmandu, 6 Sept.: Indian main opposition BJP said the Maoist tape recording of a top Maoist leader was a serious issue which should be closely studied by the Indian government, PTI reports from New Delhi.
BJP said the demand of money from China by Nepali Maoists for Nepal’s internal issues in an interference with serious challenge of India’s security.
