MORE DETAILS OF NEPAL DEVELOPMENTS

Kathmandu, 19 Nov.: The cabinet will meet again in Singha Durbar after briefing President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Friday’s developments.
The president is expected to act immediately on the recommendation of the caretaker government.
The ceremonial president has come to the political forefront again for the second time after first intervening to retain Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal dismissed then by a Maoist-led government headed by Chairman Prachanda who resigned after only nine months in office.
After resigning, Maoists are again attempting to seize state power—this time by preventing the presentation of the budget already delayed by four months.
Maoists argue only a government led by them will ensure completion of the peace process and constitution drafting to institutionalize a declared rpublic by toppling a 238-year monarchy established by King Prithvi Narayan Shah—also the founder of modern Nepal.
The dream of Maoists and then seven parties to build a Naya Nepal on the ruins of the past with foreign push has floundered and hit another obstacle.
Finance Minister Pandey said Maoist lawmakers snatched his briefcase with budget proposals mauling him and ministerial colleagues.
