SUSHIL KOIRALA SEEKS SUPPORT FOR HIS NOMINEES

Kathmandu, 29 Nov.: NC President Sushil Koirala Monday sought support for his nominees Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Shitaula in the central working committee (CWC) as price-president and general secretary respectively.
The second day’s consecutive meet got underway Monday afternoon.
There was widespread opposition to the nominations Sunday—even from persons who supported in presidential elections two months ago.
Even Sujata Koirala opposed the nominations that have to be approved by the CWC.
Sujata said she was assured nomination by Sushil as vice-chairman after withdrawing her nomination in favour of Prakash Man Singh as general secretary.

13-POINT AGREEMENT BETWEEN LOCAL TIBET AND NEPAL OFFICIALS ALONG BORDER

Kathmandu, 29 Nov.: Local officials of Tibet and Nepal came to a 13-pont agreement Monday after two days of talks to improve relations on cross-border coopaeration.
Tibet officials agreed to release 100 containers every day with Chinese imports.
Tibetan officials apologized for mistreatment of Nepali traders in Tibet and along the border, state-owned Radio Nepal said Monday.
Talks were held at a resort in Sindhupalchowk.
Nepali side was led by Sindupalchowk CDO.

TIBETANS IN NEPAL TO BE IDENTIFIED AS REFUGEES FOR US TRAVEL

Kathmandu, 29 Nov.: USA has rectified a process to issue visas to Tibetan refugees in Nepal traveling as Nepali citizens, Kantipur reports.
The refugees were identified as Nepali citizens for a long time while issuing them visas for travel to USA.
The procedure was changed after Nepali objections.
The sources aid the US embassy will now specify the long-time residents in Nepal are Tibetan refugees on the request of the Nepalese government.
This was confirmed by Home ministry Spokesman Jaya Mukunda Khanal.

POLICE SLAP BAL BAHADUR KC

Kathmandu, 29 Nov.: NC central committee member and former minister Bal Bahadur KC has been slapped by police [day not specified], Naya Patrika reports.
He was returning home with his wife Rina after attending the wedding of the son of Dr Ram Sharan Mahat at the army officers’ club.
She was also slapped once.
KC entered the police office in the evening at Kamalpokhara and started hurling abuses at the police amid loud noises.
“What’s the difference between you and the YCL?” he asked them
He had lodged a complaint on local obstructions of his house construction.
The incident happened Friday night at 11, Tarun reports.
He hurled abuses at police such as mu.. and ma.. at the police in a drunken
state.
He was also bundled into a cell.
