PRICES OF POL PRODUCTS RAISED

Kathmandu, 7 Dec,: Prices of petrol, diesel and LPG were hiked with immediate effect Monday by Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).
Petrol and diesel prices were hiked Rs 3 per liter while LPG price was increased Rs 75 per cylinder.
Diesel price now is Rs 68.50 per liter.
Gas price has increased to Rs. 1325 per cylinder.
NOC said the hike was inevitable while consumers are angry.

PM ADDRESSES LDC MEET IN BRUSSELS

Kathmandu, 7 Dec.: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Monday addressed a conference on least developed countries in Brussels
Monday.
Nepal leads the group.
Nepal flew to Belgium from Cambodia to address the meet.
The prime minister and other party leaders have come under heavy criticism for their foreign junkets while internal political issues remain unresolved at home.

NOBEL LAUREATE HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH HMG SECRETARIES

Kathmandu, 7 Dec.: Visiting Nobel Laureate Elinor Ostrom Monday discussed division of power, use of natural resources and other economic issues.
She received a Nobel prize in economics for her work on community leadership in Nepal.
She arrived Monday t the invitation of lgovernment and Asia Foundation.

TEAM TO SEARCH FOR CHEWANG NEMWANG

Kathmandu, 7 Dec.: A seven-member search team has been formed to find the body of Chewang Nemwang who went missing on Batutse 23 October
Chewang is a climber of Mount Everest fame.

MAOISTS START SIGNATURE CAMAPAIGN

Kathmandu, 7 Dec, Main opposition Maoists have stared a signature campaign to convene a session on parliament prorogued by the president to announce a budget through ordinance.
Discussion will be held whether a special session should be convened.
Maoists are holding discussions Tuesday.
Effort will first be held to convene a normal session.
A meeting of office bearers Sunday decided to call a meeting of parliament.
Maoists held a meeting with NC Monday and the party will discuss the issue with UML Tuesday.
Whips of main parties held a discussion Monday.
Maoists have 250 seats in the 599-member parliament.
Signature of one-fourth members in needed to ask the president to convene a session of parliament.

FORMER KING, QUEEN RETURN

Kathmandu, 7 Dec.: Former King Gyanendra and Queen Komal returned home Monday from India after a three-week visit.
They had gone there to attend the wedding of a relative in Rajasthan.
Then King held discussions BHP leader Lal Krishna Advani , Congress leader Karan Singh and other leaders.
Nepal is capable of resolving issues at home themselves, he quoted Indian leaders as saying.
