TARA AIR TWIN OTTER PROBABLY CRASHED OVER OKHALDUNDHA SKIES

Kathmandu, 15 Dec. : A Canadian-built turboprop Twin Otter of Tara Air probably crashed over skies of Okhaldungha in east Nepal Wednesday afternoon killing 19 passengers and three crew members.
One passenger was a foreigner.
The aircraft took off for the capital from Khotang airport at 3.08 in the afternoon and didn’t land at the TIA at the stipulated time Wednesday afternoon.
Passengers onboard were not responding to calls on their mobile phones.
Search and rescue ground teams from security forces have been sent to a jungle area.
Night vision helicopters of Nepal Army didn’t takeoff from the capital because of cloud cover at 6.000 feet over the possible crash site.
Search and rescue teams will possibly reach the area Thursday morning..
A German-built Dronier turboprop of Agni Air crashed over Makwanpur during the monsoon killing all onboard, including American tourists, and a rescue helicopter crashed in the Everest region during dasain killing the pilot and flight engineer.
Air accidents are occurring with increasing frequency.
