MONSOON-LIKE CONDITION IN SPRING

Kathmandu, 16 Feb.: Several people wee killed and injured and houses were damaged by rains and lightening Wednesday throughout the country.
Monsoon-like condition prevailed with the first spring rain nation-wide Wednesday.
Rain drizzled throughout the day and hills around the Valley were whitened with snow even in spring—a rare occurrence.

UML LEADERS EXPELLED FROM PARTY

Kathmandu, 16 Feb.: Former General Administration Minister Ravindra Shrestha of UML was striped of his party membership by party disciplinary committee Wednesday for re-marrying.
Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hamid Ansari accused for embezzling compensation of workers there was also expelled from the party
leading the government.

U.S. Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Janice Arrives

Kathmandu, 16 Feb.: United States Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Janice Jacobs arrived in Kathmandu Wednesday for a two-day visit primarily focused on inter-country adoptions the US embassy said.
She will meet with officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for Women, Children and Social Welfare to discuss the United States government’s concerns about the inter-country adoption process.

BHARAT NEPAL SHOT DEAD IN BANGKOK

Kathmandu, 16 Feb.: A Nepali-born who shot dead two prominent
Nepalis in the capital has been shot and killed in Bangkok in an
Indian criminal gang war, Indian media reported
Bharat Nepal was shot dead in the Thai capital outside a shopping mall.
He’s suspected of killing RPP lawmaker Mirza Beg and media tycoom Jamin Shah.
He claimed responsibility.
