PM KHANAL ASKS MAOISTS TO SUBMIT SPECIAL PROPOSAL FOR INTEGRATION

Kathmandu, 17 May: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal Tuesday asked Maoists to submit a proposal for integration of 19,000 plus former Maoists ahead of 28 May to conclude the peace process
Main opposition NC and other opposition parties have asked for a conclusion of the peace process. to begin other political processes to end a transition that has lasted for more than four years bringing misery to the country and people.
Khanal said Tuesday there was no alternative to extending the CA tenure.
He said the country was passing though a difficult phase.
He called for ’new approaches’ to complete constitution drafting.

UML ESTABLISHES RS 100 MILLION FUND FOR PROTECTION OF WORKERS

Kathmandu, 17 May: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who is also chairman of UML Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a building at party headquarters in memory of Pushpa Lal Pradhan, founder of Communist Party of Nepal.
Khanal also launched the Rs 100 million workers’ protection fund for which Rs 20 million has already been collected.
The two party initiatives were taken on the18 anniversary of the death of party General Secretary Madan Bhandari and Organization Chief Jibram Ashrit.
