HOME MINISTER SUMMONED BY PARLIAMENT’S STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Kathmandu, 9 May: Parliament’s state affairs committee Monday summoned Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara Thursday to answer queries on the delay in taking action against persons involved in a Rs 300 million scam to purchase armed personnel carriers (APCs) for Nepal Police peacekeepers with UN in Darfur, Sudan.
The committee had suggested action.
CIAA Secretary Bhagwati Kafle and Attorney General Yubaraj Shangraula have also been summoned .

NC TOP THREE ADDRESS KANCHANPUR MEET
Kathmandu, 9 May: Top three main opposition NC leaders President Sushil Koirala, three-time Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel Monday addressed a central national awareness campaign for peace and constitution in Kanchanpur.
The campaign was launched by the top three leaders from Pokhara and will conclude in the capital.
The campaign was launched after a recent show of unity in the party.

RJP AGAINST CA TERM EXTENSION
Kathmandu, 9 May: Rashtriya Janashakti Party (RJP) Monday through a statement opposed an extension of the constitution (CA) after 28 May.
A statement was issued by Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa.
The party said there was no environment under the present circumstances to extend the tenure.
