MAOISTS, UML AGREE TO EXTEND CA TENURE
Kathmandu, 2 May: Maoists and UML agreed Monday at a meeting to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly (CA)that ends 28 May.
Top UML leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Oli who oppose Prime Minister JhalanathKhanal weren’t present at the meeting of two ruling parties
Maoist Vice-chairman Bamdeb Gautam said UML agreed to a Maoist proposal to extend the tenure.
The parties will discuss with other parties the duration of theextension, he said.
To push the peace process, the ruling parties agreed to develop a modality for integration of 19,000 plus former Maoist fighters in camps previously managed by UNMIN for discussion at a special committee headed by the prime minister and approval by other parties.
Maoists and UML agreed to discuss the presentation of advance budget with other parties for presentation in parliament and move ahead in agreement with non-government parties; 11 parties, including main opposition NC, oppose the advance budget.

ONLY PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE TO BE READ IN PARLIAMENT
Kathmandu, 2 May: Speker Subash Nemwang and whips of three mahor parties agreed at a meeting ahead of the budget session only the message of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav convening the budget will be read out in parliament later Monday announcing the beginning of the budget sssion.
Eleven parties said they will obstruct the budget session to presentthe annual; budget.

HEAVY OVRENIGHT RAIN CAUSES WIDESPREAD DAMAGE IN JAJARKOT
Kathmandu, 2 May: An hour-long overnight heavy rain damaged crops over hundreds of ropanis of agricultural land in the far-West hill district Jajarkot.
Movement of vehicles and people has been disrupted.
Dozens of domestic animals were killed.
