NO BREAKTHROUGH YET TO END pOLITICAL DEADLOCK

Kathmandu, 28 May: There was no breakthrough to end a protracted deadlock with less then three years remaining for the tenure of the constituent assembly (CA) to end at midnight Saturday.
“There’s no point of agreement so far,” admitted Prakask Jwala, senior political aide of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
Parties are continuing bilateral ad multilateral talks to find an outlet.
Main opposition NC called for the resignation of Premier Khanal for the formation of a national government in direct talks with UML which heads the government with Maoists.
Parties are attempting to develop a common ground for assembly tenure extension
Groups staging sit-ins in front of the assembly hall for and against the government started returning home from neighbourhood of the assembly complex with the onset of dusk.
