CHINA SOUTHERS BEGINNING DAILY KATHMANDU GUANGZHOU FLIGHTS FROM 1 JULY

CHINA SOUTHERN BEGINNING DIRECT KATHMANDU/GUANGZHOU

Kathmandu, 14 June: China Southern is starting daily flights between Guangzhou and Kathmandu from 1 July.
The Chinese airline says it’s the largest airline in Asia with a fleet of 420 aircraft.
There was good connections to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan ,Korea and USA from the city in south China.

CIAA INTERVENES TO STOP INDISCRIMINATE GOVT. SPENDING

Kathmandu, 14 June: CIAA intervened Monday and asked government agencies through letters, including the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, not to release funds as the fiscal year ends to projects not approved by National Planning Commission.
New fiscal year 2011/12 begins mid-July.
The anti-graft body was acting on a complaint of the main opposition NC and request for intervention to stop widespread of distribution of state funds by doling out money to party cadre and organizations affiliated with ruling parties.

TIBET CLOSED FOR TOURISTS UNTILEND OF JULY

Kathmandu, 14 June” Foreign tourists will be barred from going to Tibet until the end of July, travel gents agents said today [Monday], the second time this year the troubled region has been closed to overseas visitors, AFP reports from Beijing.
“At the moment we’re not admitting foreign tourists, an employee at China Travel Service in the regional capital Lhasa said, adding the agency had received a notice saying this would be enforced until July 26.
(Note: Tourists from Europe and east coast of NSA transit to Tibet via Nepal.)
