PRACHANDA, NEMWANG MEET

Kathmandu, 14 June: Maoist Chairman Prachanda and Speaker Subash Nemwang held discussions on the formation of a parliamentary committee to monitor implementation of a tripartite five-point agreement between Maoists, NC and UML
Following the agreement, the tenure of the constituent assembly was extended for another three months with an understanding to from a national government.
The Maoist chief hinted after the meeting, the monitoring committee Nemwang is to head could be formed Wednesday
Differences have surfaced between the Big Three as soon as the tripartite agreement was signed.
No substantial progress has been made in constitution drafting or completing the peace process by disarming 19,000 plus former Maoist combatants even more than two weeks after the agreement signing.

DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER KRISHNA BAHADUR MAHARA MEETS SUSHIL KOIRALA

Kathmandu, 14 June: Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara held discussions with NC President Sushil Koirala Tuesday and sought cooperation of the main opposition to announce a budget for the next fiscal year in mid-July.
Koirala asked Mahara to prepare a budget that reflects national understanding.
Delayed presentation of annual budget for the last two years have adversely impacted the economy.
