GOVT. OFFICIAL SHOT DEAD IN BARA
Kathmandu, 11 June: Dhiraja Mahoto,48, a government official of terai, was shot dead in Bara overnight.
He was returning home after attending a wedding party.
Three suspects have been arrested.

$46.5 MILLION ASSISTANCE FROM GAFSP
Kathmandu, 11 June: Nepal has received $ 46.5 million assistance equivalent to Rs.3.3 billion from Global Agriculture and Food Security Programme (GAFSP) for household food security amid increased food insecurity.
“Nepal will receive $46.5 million, and the GAFSP funds will enhance household food security through increased agricultural productivity, household incomes and awareness about health and nutrition in the mid-western and far-western development regions,” a statement said.

KOICA TO FINANCE HEALTHCARE PROGRAMME
Kathmandu, 11 June: Korea International Cooperation Agency (KIOCA) will spend $5.5 million from 2011 to 2014 for health service improvement in Tikapur in the far-West.
A 42-month programme will cover Tikapur and adjoining villages.
The money will fund construction of health facilities, health posts and upgrading of four sub-health posts.
