SUSHIL KOIRALA TO INAUGURATE NC CONVENTION OF DISTRICT PRESIDENTS

Kathmandu, 11 June: President Sushil Koirala will inaugurate a two-day conference of main opposition NC 75 district presidents in Dhulikhel Saturday.
Altogether 160 delegates, including central leaders and party officials are attending.
The meeting comes soon after a national awareness programme for peace and constitution drafting and to give lift to the party that was once the country’s biggest.
UCPN (Maoist) now is the largest party and communists control government and are in majority in parliament.
General Secretary Prakash Man Singh said current political situation, peace process and constitution will be discussed.
A 10-point demand on which the party renegaded to extend the constituent assembly tenure for three months after 28 May,a five-point tripartite agreement with UML and Maoists to form a national government, party organization and amendment of a statute will also be discussed, he said.

LOAD-SHEDDING RELAXED FURTHER

Kathmandu, 11 June: Daily load-shedding will be relaxed further from six to four hours, from Wednesday, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) said.
Relief comes as monsoon approaches and a campaign to curb power theft.
Power cuts have crippled the economy besides inconveniencing lives.
