MISSING JAPANESE TREKKER FOUND

Kathmandu, 8 June: A Japanese trekker who went missing in Rasuwa north of the capital has been found alive in a cave, published reports said Wednesday.
Iwafuchi Makiko,49, was found in a cave near Naukunda in the district and locals handed him over to police.
Makiko went missing from his hotel 13 days ago.

NEPSE LOSES 5.7 POINTS

Kathmandu, 8 June: Nepse lost 5.7points and closed at 317.49 points when the market Tuesday closed on the third day of weekly trading.
The bearish trend continued for the third consecutive day.
The banking subgroup lost 7.77 points.
Nepse index hit a record high 1175points 31 August 2008 and has slipped to 317.49 points—a 72.11 percent fall.

DESIGNER PRABAL GURUNG WINS SWAROVSKI AWARD

Kathmandu, 8 June: Designer Prabal Gurung, who won the Sawrovski Award for women’s wear was amazed at his win backstage, reports usatoday.com.
The occasion: the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards, honouring today’s style starts with the fashion version of the Oscars.
‘It’s been a great start but to quote my favourite poet, Robert Frost, I have miles to go before I sleep.”
The young designer said he likes to decompress, between collections with his family …”long hours of Skype conversation with my brother and sister, who live in India and Nepal.”

ONLY 15 MAOIST WEAPONS SURRENDERED

Kathmandu, 8 June: Only 15 among 96 weapons issued for the security of top Maoist leaders have been returned to the 3rd division at Shaktikhor, Chadani Hamal reports in Nagarik from Chitwan.
Weapons and Maoist fighters were escorted to Shaktikhor by a police contingent.
Twenty fighters with 15 weapons were escorted to Shaktikhor Tuesday.
Leadership in Kathmandu said 96 weapons were issued to 106 fighters.
Coordinator for the return of the fighters Santhu Darai asked where the other weapons were said,” Let iot be known all weapons have reached the camp.”
