MONTH-LONG TRAVEL BAN TO TIBET

RS.100 MILLION DAMAGE IN NOODLES FACTORY FIRE

Kathmandu, 12 July: A massive fire started by an electric short circuit destroyed the engineering and administrative departments and warehouse of Himalayan Snacks and Noodles Pvt. Ltd at Ugratara Janagal-1 in Kavre Monday.
Police estimate the damage at Rs.100 million.
The factory manufactures the popular brand Mayos and Ru-cchee instant noodles.
The fire was controlled in four hours.

Kathmandu, 12 July: Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Nepal Telecom (NTC) signed a Rs.1.6 million sponsorship deal Monday.

Nepal Police IGP Rabindra Pratap Shah and NTC Managing Director Vishwa Nath Goel signed the a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Under the deal, NPC players will display NTC logo in matches for the Rs 1.6 million annual sponsorship.

SHARAD VESAWKAR TO PLAY CLUB CRICKET IN ENGLAND

Kathmandu, 12 July: National cricket player Sharad Vesawkar will leave for England Thursday to play10 friendly club matches, published reports said.
Vesawkar will join Jayashree Cricket Club of India.

BAN ON TRAVEL TO TIBET

Kathmandu, 12 July: China has banned cross-border travel between Nepal and Tibet for one month, Dhuruba Dangal reports from the neighbouring district of Sindhupalchowk.
The border was sealed after the Chinese Vice-president Xi Jinping. began a month-long Tibet visit from 25 June to 20 July.
“The travel ban has been imposed on everybody, except Chinese,” said Bijaya Paudel, chief of customs office at Tatopani.
