4 RPP-N LAWMAKERS EXPELLED FROM PARLIAMENT FOR ONE DAY


NC SEEKS UML SUPPORT FOR PAUDEL

Kathmandu, 25 Aug.: A three-member delegation of main opposition NC visited the residence of former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at Koteshwor and sought UML support its candidate Ram Chandra Paudel for Sunday’s election of government chief.
The delegation consisted of President Sushil Koirala, Vice-president Paudel and Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat.
Nepal didn’t immediately his assurance.

4 RPP-N LEGISLATORS EXPELLED

Kathmandu, 25 Aug : Four legislators of RPP-N were expelled from parliament Thursday.
They were expelled as they obstructed parliamentary proceedings.
Thursday’s House session for obstructing parliamentary proceedings.
Speaker Subas Nembang ruled their suspension will last one day.
The lawmakers chanted slogans opposing government’s registration of a resolution to amend the constitution to extend constituent assembly by another three months after 31 August.
Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Kunti Shahi, Ram Narayan Singh and Babina Moktan were expelled..
RPP-N has demanded fresh elections for a new mandate for the assembly to draft a constitution.
Discussion on a government proposal to extend the assembly will begin in parliament 29 August.

GOLD PRICE SLUMPS BY ANOTHER RS. 2,400 PER TOLA THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 25 Aug.: Gold price slumped by another Rs. 2,400 per tola in the local market Thursday.
The metal was traded for Rs 50,000 per tola
The price recorded a high of Rs. 53,900 per tola Tuesday.
The price fell by Rs.1,500 per tola Wednesday
