BODIES OF FIVE PERSONS BURIED ALIVE IN SOLOKHUMBU RECOVERED UPDATE

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: Bodies of five persons buried by a landslide at a village overnight in Solokhumbu were recovered Sunday.
One 40-year –old woman was extricated alive.

EDITORS ISSUE JOINT ATTENTION

Kathmaandu, 14 Aug.: An editors’ group Sunday drew the attention of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal to Saturday’s slanderous and threatening attacks against a newspaper and hournalists in Biratnagar Saturday by UML youth leaders.
They charged UML for promoting impunity as a uML youth leader charged for assault evades arrest and has gone into hiding.
Reporters working for some newspapers have been brutally attacked outside the Valley.
Khanal assured action after a journalist delegation appraised the premier.

CRUCIAL UML CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET BEGINS

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: A crucial meeting of the UML central committee got underway at party headquarter Sunday.
Remaining members of the committee which met last week began to present their views.
The meeting was postponed after Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who reported sick, was postponed until Sunday,

THREE PILGRIMS DIE OF ALTITUDE SICKNESS

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: Three pilgrims have died altitude sickness at Surmasarovar,in Bhajang Saturday while on a pilgrimage on Janai Purnima, Radio Nepal reports
Naresh Bohora, Raisinghe Chalaune and Singhe Rana died, the state radio said.
