KANCHANPUR DISTRICT UNDER WATER


Kathmandu, 17 Aug.: Almost all municipalities and VDCs in Kanchanpur, including district headquarter, are under water following incessant rain for four days, radio reports from the far-West said Wednesday.
People have been moved to safer places and have been sheltered at schools and open places.
Water level in Mahakali river, other rivers has risen and water has entered wards in Bhimdutta municipality.
The highest water flow of the year-- 378,000 cusecs was recorded on Mahakali river.
Continuous rain for two days has caused havoc in north Udaipur as well, reports said.
