MAOIST LAWMAKER AND TRADE UNION LEADER SALIKRAM JAMAKATTEL ATTACKED AND INJURED

Kathmandu, 27 Aug.: Maoist lawmaker and trade union leader Shalikram Jamakattel was injured Saturday evening in a sharp weapon attack near Babar Mahal while returning home.
He was rushed to Norvic Hospital for treatment of head injuries.
There are factions supporting three top leaders in the Maoist trade union and clashed publicly mid differences and loyalties.
Assaulters weren’t identified.
Doctors treating him said Jamakattel in out of danger.
Supporters shouted slogans against attackers at hospital premises amid plans to hold
street protest Sunday.
