PARTY SECURITY GUARDS OF MAOIST LEADERS MOHAN BAIDYA AND OTHERS SENT BACK TO CANTONMENT

Kathmandu, 27 Aug : Eleven Maoist guards deployed the security of First Maoist Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya and other leaders were sent back to cantonments Saturday.
Challenging what was then described a personal decision of Chairman Prachanda, Baidya and several Maoist leaders in a hard-line approach refused to send back disarmed PLA former fighters.
Government is also providing them security.
The move came as Maoists
unveiled a five-point plan for government, constitution and completion of the peace process to lead a government.
Parliamentary election for prime minister is be held Sunday.
Other parties demanded disbandment and end to double security for Maoist leaders for total integration and resettlement of 19,000 former combatants to conclude the peace process.
Baidya said this week he supported a five-point
Maoist schedule and work plan for government, integration and constitution drafting.

NC UNVEILS 11-POINT PLAN TO COLLECT SUPPORT FOR RAM CHANDRA PAUDEL

Kathmandu, 27 Aug 27: With just one day remaining for election of prime minister, main opposition NC Saturday announced a delayed 11-point concept for peace and constitution to ensure victory of Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel.
The document could have been announced earlier even though Sher Bahadur Deuba was the party candidate for a consensus premier.
Maoists unveiled their plan two days earlier.
The Maoist five-point for government, peace and constitution has been rejected by NC,UML and a front of Madeshbadi parties.
The NC work plan prioritizes peace, constitution, state restructuring and good governance.
The plan was unveiled just one day before the vote for prime minister.
The main opposition reiterated its stand on surrender of Maoist weapons to government, dismantling of YCL and return of seized assets.
The party gave up its stance to go for 2008 constituent assembly elections under foreign pressure and a soft policy to Maoists ahead of assembly elections when Girija Prasad Koirala was prime minister.
The pre-conditions were revived when Maoists routed NC in assembly elections.
Jayaprakash Prakash Gupta Chairman of MJFN (Republican) charged NC had no plans to complete the peace process and constitution drafting unlike Maoists.
