TO PRESENT FIRM PLAN TO COMPLETE PEACE PROCESS TOLEAD GOVT.
Kathmandu,19 Aug.: NC and UML asked Maoists Maoists to declare clear commitment to the peace process to lead a successor government of Jhalanath Khanal who resigned this week.
They asked for a reliable schedule for integration to 19,000 Maoist former combatants in 28 cantonments and satellite camps and completion of the peace process.
UML proposed UML should lead a consensus government.
NC and UML will demanded a
firm schedule and plan to complete the peace process and integration of former fighters for Maoist leadership of a future government.
The two parties said Maoists should implement past commitments.
Another UML, Maoist meet was ‘positive’ Friday and two parties will meet again Saturday, Third Vice-chairman Narayan Kazi Shrestha said.
UML and a democratic front of five Madeshbadi parties also held discussions Friday on elections by 21 August for Khanal’s successor.
Both UML and the Madeshbadi parties described as the fourth force haven’t laid claim to lead a consensus government.
Sher Bahadur Deuba of NC and Maoist Second Vice-chairman Dr.Baburam Bhattarai have staked claims.

UNIDO SAYS IT HAS NO VALID LUMBINI AGREEMENT APECF
Kathmandu, 19 Aug : United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Friday denied reports it has signed an accord with Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation (APECF) on development of Lumbini, the birthplace of The Buddha.
"The UNIDO has not entered into any valid contractual agreement with the APECF, and therefore is not involved in any activities related to the Lumbini Special Development Zone in Nepal," a UNIDO statement said.
"Any reference to a UNIDO involvement in the Lumbini Special Development Zone is thus without any legal and substantive basis," the statement signed by UNDIO Advocacy and Communication Coordinator Mikhail Evstafyev said.

Kathmandu,19 Aug 19: Nepal Army (NA) Friday posthumously honoured composer Gopal Prasad Rimal for penning the stirring ‘Rato Ra Chandra Surya’
with the rank of honourary colonel.
Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal conferred the title to his widow Hari Devi Rimal.
Music composer Ambar Gurung was also conferred the rank.
Army Chief Gen. Chhatra Man Singh Gurung awarded them with Rs 200,000 each.
NA also felicitated Fatteman Rajbhandari, singing the army song.
Rajbhandari was presented a national dress, cap, coat and appreciation letter with Rs. 100,000.
