TOP MAOIST LEADER MAKES SCATHING CRITICISM OF PM KHANAL

Kathmandu, 12 Aug.: Maoist Secretary CP Gajurel Friday criticized and blamed outgoing Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal for unilaterally deciding to resign and said that action was itself a hurdle to implement the peace process.
Gajurel also was critical of the functioning style of Khanal
“This is the first reason why the peace process has been delayed. An environment has to be created for this. An environment won’t be created for this,” Gajurel told Radio Nepal said in a frank and critical interview with the state radio.
“That’s why the peace process won’t get momentum The peace process won’t now be completed without the resignation.”
Khanal said he’ll resign Saturday if the peace process isn’t be completed.
“He has announced a decision. No talks were held with Maoists which helped to appoint him He started taking unilateral
‘First an environment should have been created. Then Jhalanath Khanal should have resigned. A caretaker government will be formed to run government for a long time. A laughable situation has been created,” Gajurel predicted and criticized the working style of the government chief heading a coalition government with Maoists.
‘He put conditions before the party (ICPN (Maoist).This was not proper The party was not consulted. He started taking unilateral decisions just like with the appointment.of vice-chancellors.
“He started to pacify opponents in his own party.”
Gajurel added: “No mechanism was formed to run government affairs. “
“No condition should be placed before us. It is not the party decision to meet the conditions,” Gajurel added saying the official party is to support Dr. Baburam Bhattarai to head a government of understanding.
“The discussion is now centered around who will be prime minister—Sher Bahadur Deuba or Ram Chandra Paudel.
“The official party position is Dr.Baburam Bhattarai should head a government of understanding party There is no basis for the party to support the candidacy of NC. It look like another majority government will be formed.

NC CENTRALCOMMITTEE MEETS CONTINUES FOR SECONDDAY FRIDAY

Kathmandu, 12 Aug.: Main opposition NC central committee meet continues to discussion the party’s candidate for prime minister and caring out seven provinces in a federal structure for the second consecutive day Friday.
Sher Bahadur Deuba is challenging the claim of parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel to head a national government to succeed Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal who said he’ll resign Saturday if the peace process isn’t concluded.

ANOTHER PAKISTANI HELD WITH FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY NOTES

Kathmandu, 12 Aug.: Another Pakistani and a Nepali were arrested Thursday with counterfeit Indian currency notes in the capital.
Pakistani national Seikh Mohammed Fahim and Sushil Kumar Singh were arrested from a hotel in the Thamel area with IRs. 5.494 million fake currency notes.
They were arrested with currency notes of rupees 1,000 and 500 denominations following a raid of a hotel room.
