DIFFERENCES IN NC WIDEN

Kathmandu, 23 Sept.: A meeting between factions of President Sushil Koirala to resolve differences on dissolution of four fraternal organizations was inconclusive Friday.
NC President Sushil Koirala is foiling attempts of Sher Bahadur Deuba faction in the main opposition NC to oppose this week’s central committee decision to disband executive committees of four fraternal organization.
A meeting of Deuba supporters decided Thursday to convene to raise the dissolution at a meeting of district presidents.
Deuba group said an earlier meeting of district presidents in Dhulikhel had agreed incumbent executive committees should hold fresh elections after the elected tenure of executive members ended.
Deuba said Koirala, though majority central committee decision, overturned a decision of district presidents.
Koirala is asking party workers to abide by the party decision.
Meanwhile, three Deuba supporters on a death fast at party head office opposing the central committee decision, were hospitalized Friday after falling sick.

ENERGY MINISTER ASKS MAOIST FACTION NOT TO TAKE PARTY DIFFERENCES TO STREETS

Kathmandu, 23 Sept.: Secretary of the UCPN (Maoist) and Minister for Energy Post Bahadur Bogati has urged the Baidhya faction of the party not to showoff the intra-party rift outside the party organization, RSS reports.

Talking to journalists after inaugurating the sixth annual general assembly of Nepal National Parents Association and educational seminar in the capital on Friday, Bogati said the dispute seen in the party should be addressed congenially through discussions among leaders.

He said there is no dispute in the party. He also opined that the Maoist party should run on unity, struggle and transformation adding that struggle inside the party was necessary to run the party smoothly. However, Bogati expressed dissatisfaction over the wrong exercise of struggle in the Maoist party.
