Kathmandu, 8 Sept.: Durga Prasad Bhattarai was appointed acting foreign secretary by the cabinet Thursday.
Bhattarai succeeds Madan Kumar Bhattarai who retired.

DECISION ON NATIONAL DRESS ‘BEING CORRECTED’
Kathmandu, 8 Sept. Government decided to ‘correct a decison’ of a previous government on the national dress.
The decision was taken by a cabinet of Maoists and Madeshbadi parties Thursday.
Chairman Prachanda and Dr.Baburam Bhattarai have never been seek publicly in the dress.
They put on a topi though.
The governmentof Madhab Kumar Nepal described a combination of the daura, suruwal and topi as a national dress.
