NC CENTRAL COMMITTEE TO REVIEW DEFEAT IN ELECTIONS FOR PM

NC CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETS SATURDAY
Kathmandu, 2 Sept.: Main opposition NC central committee meets Saturday and among issues to be taken up will be the defeat on its candidates in parliamentary elections for prime minister.
Three-time former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel were defeated by Maoist second Vice-chairman D. Baburam Bhattarai.
The meeting will review the latest political situation, including the collapse of a planned coalition with five Madeshbadi parties for a democratic political alliance.

The committee will also discuss differences and disputes in its student and youth wings.

FURTHER DETAILS OF HHIHTESTED DIFFERENCES IN UCPN (MAOIST) UPDATE

Kathmandu, 2 Sept.; Maoist Chief Prachanda asked all to support the party official position and asked workers to observe rules of a a party system.
‘All issues will be discussed and decision will be taken unanimously,” said Spokesman Dinanath Sharma referring to Saturday’s standing committee meet.

PM BHATTARAI DENIES AMNESTY FOR CRIMES
Kathmandu, 2 Sept.: Prime Minister Dr.Baburam Bhattarai has said that no agreement and decision was made [with front of five Madeshbadi parties for his assumption of office] to acquit the culprits in the name of politics, RSS reports.

Meeting with the human rights activists at the UCPN-Maoist central office this morning, Dr Bhattarai said, “Decision was made only to acquit the fake cases charged by the State during the People’s war, Madhes movement, Tharuhat movement and other movements.”

On the occasion, PM Dr Bhattarai said the bills necessary for the formation of the commissions on truth and reconciliation, and people forced disappear will be given a final touch soon. He pledged saying that action against human rights violators will be taken and priority will be given to end impunity.

The human rights activists demanded not to withdraw the cases filed against human rights violators and to end impunity.

UCPN-MAOIST ADVISOR MIYA RELEASED ON GENERAL DATE
Kathmandu, 2 Sept.: Central Advisor to the Unified CPN-Maoist, Jalim Miya, arrested on murder charge two weeks ago, was released on general date, RSS reports from Parsa.

He was freed on general date, informed Brikha Bahadur Thapa, an employee at the office of district attorney.

Thapa had registered a murder case in the district court demanding action against him in line with criminal justice provisions.

He was released on Thursday evening as per the directive of the district court, informed Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at District Police Office, Parsa, Rabindra KC.

Police received complaints against Miya on the charge of his involvement in 12 murder cases.
