PADLOCKS AT SIX UNIVERSITIES LIFTED UPDATE
Kathmandu, `14 Sept.: Padlocks have been removed from six out of seven universities following an agreement between the government of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and agitating NC and Maoist educationists for appointments of new vice-chancellors.
Government asked seven university chiefs to resign following their appointment by the Jhalanath Khanal government.
UML said Tuesday demand for the resignations of appointed vice-chancellors amounted to intervention in independence and autonomous bodies.

PM TO MEET PEOPLE ONCE A WEEK AT PARTY OFFICE
Kathmandu, 14 Sept.: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai will address the nation before leaving for New York Monday to address the annual UN general assembly session, Nagarik reports.
He’ll meet general people once a week at the party office though date for the weekly hasn’t been fixed yet, said personal aide Bishwadeep Pandey in Nagarik.
E-mails can now be sent to the government chief
He has received 250 messages until Tuesday after the outlet was opened.
