LOAD-SHEDDING INCREASED SIX HOURS A WEEK

NEW GOVT. TO INCREASE LOAD-SHEDDING SIX HOURS A WEEK

Kathmandu, 14 Sept.: The new Maoist/Madeshbadi government increased load-shedding by six hours a week from this week, a Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) announcement Wednesday said.
Power outrage was increased from 12 to 18 hours a week.
The previous government reduced power cuts from a grueling 18 hours a day in the peak dry season to two hours a day when
Energy Minister Gokarna Bista
headed the ministry.
Good monsoon rain helped reduce power cuts that not only inconvenienced people, adversely impacted the economy and increased NEA losses through lower monthly collection electricity bills.
The dry season begins peaking from the end of Dasain and lasts until April.
