FORMER HOME SECRTARY CHANDI PRASAD SHRESTHA RECEIVES JICA AWARD

Kathmandu, 23 Oct.: Retired home secretary Chandi Prasad Shrestha Saturday was awarded the JICA Recognition Award by Chief Representative of the Japanese institution in Nepal Mitshuyoshi Kawasaki.
Shrestha of Chairman of JICA Alumni Association Forum of SAARC countries.
He is the first Nepali to receive the Japanese award.

DEUBA POURS VENOM, SCORN GAINST SUSHIL KOIRALA

Kathmandu, 23 Oct. Senior main opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba Saturday poured venom and scorn against President Sushil Koirala in Bratnagar
“When I wasn’t afraid of the king, Maoists or even Girijababu, why should I be afraid of Sushil Koirala?” Deuba asked.
“Instead of resolving party issues, the party president is unnecessarily creating additional problems,” the three-time prime minister charged referring to the dismissal of four office bearers of four wings of the main opposition party by the party central committee.
‘After the dismissals attempted to teased my twice by telephoning. I didn’t pick up the phone.
“The president is attempting to directly crush me. How long should I tolerate? That’s why I have come to you directly to tell you the truth. I’m committed to party unity.”
