KAMAL THAPA DISCUSSES CURRENT POLITICAL ISSUES WITH BJP LEADER L.K ADVANI

Kathmandu, 10 Oct.: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) Kamal Thapa and leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Lalkrishna Advani held a meeting at the latter's residence, New Delhi on Monday, RSS reports.

During the meeting, matters related to the bilateral relations existing between Nepal and India and Nepal's contemporary situation were discussed, according to the RPP Nepal.

Mr Advani, on the occasion, opined that democracy in Nepal should be strengthened and the age-old Nepal-India relations should not be affected by anything, it is learnt.

NEPAL TO OBSERVE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF COOPERATIVES
Kathmandu, 10 Oct.: The Council of Ministers on Monday formed a committee under the convenorship of Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Nandan Kumar Dutta in order to observe the International Year of Cooperatives, RSS reports.

According to the government spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the cabinet meeting today entrusted the Prime Minister the responsibility of giving final shape to the Code of Conduct to be followed by the Ministers and civil servants, after making necessary changes to it.

Though many other issues were discussed no further decision was taken at the meeting, Shrestha said.
