UCPN (MAOIST), NC SUMMIT TALKS

Kathmandu, 10 Oct. UCPN (Maoist), leading a government with five
Madeshbadi parties, main opposition NC held summit talks Monday to
attempt a breakthrough in a political deadlock by discussing
stalled peace process and constitution drafting.
NC President led the party team which also included senior
leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-chairman Ram Chandra
Paudel.
Maoist Chairman led the UCPN (Maoist) talks team at his residence,
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai was present at the talks.
The two parties discussed, among other issues, integration of 19,000 [;us Maoists instate agencies and resettlement.

PRESIDENT IN DOHA UPDATE

Kathmandu, 10 Oct. President Dr Ram Baran Yadav arrived in Doha Monday afternoon to begin a four-say state visit of Qatar.
The head of state will also interact with members of the huge Nepali community in the Gulf emirate.
