MAOISTS CLOSE DOWN RAUTAHAT INDEFINITELY TO PREVENT POLICE AGAINST MINISTER

THREATENED CLOSURE OF KOSHI, MECHI ANCHALS WITHDRAWN

Kathmandu, 11 Oct. Federal Limbuwan Parisdha Tuesday withdrew its threatened three-day closure of Koshi and Mechi anchals from Wednesday at government strike.
The strike withdrawal was announced at a news conference in Birtamodh,,Jhapa, Tuesday.
The two anchals have nine hill and terai districts east of Arun river.
The Parishad has been mainly pushing autonomy demands.
It has accused government for not implementing past commitments.

Kathmandu, 11 Oct. Two district Maoist units Tuesday announced an indefinite closure of Rautahat from where Maoist Land Reforms
Minister Prabhu Sah hails.
They closed the market and obstructed the movement of vehicles Tuesday.
The closure was announced to prevent any further police action.
against the minister for his alleged involvement in the murder of
Hindu Youth leader Kashi Tiwari, who was shot dead nearly 18 months
in Birgunj.
Sah along with his personal secretary have been implicated in
confessions of a suspect who has been arrested
Secretary Shiyaram Kushubaha has also been implicated in the
confession.
Parsa district attorney isn’t cooperating to register a case against the minister and his secretary, Tiwari family and supporters said.
Widow Babita Devi resumed her hunger strike in front of
the Birgunj clock tower accusing the government and local administration for attempting to prevent judicial action the minister and his secretary.

ONE KILLED, 15 INJURED IN KANCHANPUR BUS ACCIDENT

Kathmandu, 11 Oct. One passenger was killed and 15 others were injured in a bus accident at Bashi in Kanchanpur
Tuesday.
Four of the injured are serious.
The bus was travelling to Nepalgunj from Bhimdutta municipality in Kanchanpur.
