PRESIDENT BEGINS STATE VISIT OF QATAR MONDAY

Kathmandu, 9 Oct. President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav leaves Monday
for a state visit of the Gulf emirate of Qatar —the third foreign tour of the head of state after assuming office as the first president.
He earlier visited India and China
Daughter Anita is accompanying him.
Minister for Physical Planning Hridesh Tripathi is also accompanying Dr.
Yadav along with Acting Foreign Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai
The presidential team consists of members of the presidential staff and other foreign ministry officials
Press Advisor Rajendra Dahal is also included in the team.
RSS adds:During the course of the visit, a ceremonial welcome event will take place at the Emiri Diwan (Qatari Royal Palace) followed by official talks and State Luncheon hosted by the Emir, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs RSS reports.

The President will be visiting a few places of interest including the Education City and Pear Qatar. Besides, the President will have a meeting with the Nepali community in Qatar.

It may be recalled that this will be the first ever visit to Qatar by a Head of State after Nepal became a Republic.

Kathmandu, 9 Oct.: UCPN-Maoist Vice Chairman Mohan Baidhya has said that he would boycott the upcoming party gathering, RSS reports from Ghorai, Dang..

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dang chapter in Gorahi on Sunday, Baidhya said the decision of the party leadership to hand over the keys to the arms' containers inside the Maoist cantonments to the Special Committee without discussions was wrong.

The responsible people inside the party were not consulted before the party leadership took the decision, he added.

Baidhya, who is considered a hardliner inside the party, further said that he and party cadres close to him would not take part in the party’s upcoming gathering until the decision was withdrawn.

"It is wrong to undermine the contribution of the people's liberation army by handing over the containers' keys to the Special Committee", he said.
