Kathmandu, 29 Oct.: A woman and three others were injured when a jeep fell off a highway in neighbouring Dhading Saturday.
The jeep was heading for Kintangfedi from Dhadingbesi.

GOVT. EFFORT TO FIND WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED

Kathmandu, 29 Oct.: The government has begun necessary process to provide employment to unemployed youths, RSS reports.

According to the Department of Labour, the government has been making preparations to provide jobs under the Skills for Employment Programme in Biratnagar and Kathmandu in the first phase to the unemployed youths they have registered their names in the Employment Information Center.

The National Planning Commission (NPC) has given approval to the programme to begin the work, said Director General of the Department, Dr. Man Bahadur BK.

He said the center has been developed as the unit to collect detailed information about the skilled manpower and provide it to the industrial organizations. The center will also provide information about a person's educational qualification, vocational training, skill and capacity for the jobs concerned.

The information center that had only collected the details of the unemployed youths has begun to refer their names along with their skill and capacity to the companies concerned for jobs. The center has been collecting data about the unemployed youths since the last two years.

As many as 40,000 youths have registered their names with the center. The government has established 14 centers in each of the zones in the country.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Suraj Baidhya expressed his solidarity to the campaign and said the labor market will employ the unemployed youths as per the market demand.

SEVEN INJURED IN CHITWAN ROAD ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 29 Oct.: At least seven persons were injured in a road accident at Chandibhanjyang VDC along the Narayanghat-Muglin road in Chitwan on Saturday, RSS reports.

The bus (Na 3 Kha 2695) bound to Pokhara from Narayanghat met with an accident after it rammed against a cliff on the roadside. All the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at a medical centre in Muglin. Police said they have been searching for the absconding bus driver.


PM DIRECTS ACTION AGAINST TIA OFFICIAL
KATHMANDU, 29 Oct.: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has directed the concerned authorities to immediately take action against the employee demanding hush money at the Tribhuvan International Airport, RSS reports.

Nayab Subba (non-gazetted first class officer) Purna Bahadur Basnet had demanded Rs 100,000 black money with Dichen Dolma Sherpa on October 1 at the airport while she was flying to the US.

Sherpa had informed media about this with proof and drew the prime minister’s attention to take action against the corrupt employee.

Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai today directed Home Ministry Secretary Shusil Jung Bahadur Rana and Secretary at the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Bhagawati Kafle to take departmental action on the employee demanding bribe, according to Prime Minister’s aide Bishwo Deep Pande.Sherpa had informed media that Nayab Subba Basnet demanded the bribe reasoning she was a Tibetan.

RARE AYURVED MANUSCRIPT TO BEPUBLISHED
KATHMANDU: The Singha Durbar Baidhyakhana Development Committee (SDBDC) is preparing to publish a rare manuscript on
Ayurvedic medicine, Chandranighantu.

The SDBDC has allocated the budget necessary for publishing the Ayurvedic manuscript written during the Rana regime. It describes about the ayurvedic treatment system and the use of medicinal herbs for the treatment of different diseases, RSS reports.

According to its Director General Dr. Santosh Kumar Thakur, the SDBDC is forwarding the process for publication work within the current fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the SDBDC has produced additional 10 multi-purpose medicines and brought them in the market. They include Special Chyawanprash, Sugar-free Chyawanprash, Cough Syrup, Liv-Care, PD Syrup, Endogyme Syrup, Babytone Syrup, Dybi Care Tablet, Darmacare Tablet and Memory Plus Tablet.

The SDBDC has been producing different 93 kinds of Ayurvedic medicines.

Some of the products have a good demand even in the international market, claimed Dr. Thakur.
