GOVT. EXPANSION UPDATE
Kathmandu, 8 Nov.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhhattarai later appointed 19 state ministers in his government after installing seven full ministers Tuesday before leaving for Maldives to attend a SAARC summit in Maldives.
Eighteen state ministers were formally installed at Singha Durbar by the government chief.
Ram Bachan Ahir Yadav was appointed state minister for defense, Saroj Kumar Yadav state minister for health and population, Dilip Maharjan state minister for tourism and civil aviation.
Bishnu Chaudhary was installed as state minister for commerce and supplies, Suryaman Dong state minister for energy, Lila Bhandari state minister for education, Gopi Achhami state minister for youth and sports, and Ghanashyam Yadav state minister for local and development.
Jwala Shah was nominated state minister for land reforms and management, Sushama Sharma state minister for federal affairs, constituent assembly, legislature-parliament and culture, Hari Sewa Limbu state minister for finance and Sunita Kumari Mahato state minister for general administration.
Bhimraj Chaudhary Rajbanshi was installed state minister for home affairs, Laxman Mahato state minister for forest and soil conservation, Durgadevi Mahato state minister for environment, Kashi Devi Jha state minister for law and justice, Ishwar Dayal Mishra state minister for physical planning and works and Ramani Ram state minister for energy.
State Minister for women, children and social welfare Aravind Sah was not in town and didn’t take his oath.
