750 STRANDED TOURISTS RESCUED FROM EVEREST REGION

ANOTHER GROUP OF STRANDED TOURISTS EVACUATED FROM MOUNT EVEREST REGION UPDATE

Kathmandu, 8 Nov.: Another 750 stranded tourists were airlifted from the Mount Everest region Tuesday by aircraft and helicopters from Lukla to the capital by 56 flights.

Helicopters and fixed wing aircraft of private and government airlines made 56 flights to Lukla and returned with 733 trekkers who were trapped in Lukla because of bad weather for the last nine days.
Evacuation of stranded tourists now estimated at around 500 will be
evacuated Wednesday if weather continues to hold.

GOLD HITS NEW HIGH OF Rs 54,700 PER TOLA

Kathmandu, 8 Nov.:: Gold was traded for Rs, 54,700 per tola in the bllion market Tuesday.
The price jumped Rs 1,000 per tola compared to the previous day to hit a new record trading price.
The increased price coincides with increased demand demand for the yellow metal in the international market.
