HISHILA YAMI BIDS GOODBYE TO HUSBAND PM BHATTARAI WITH NON-TRADITIONAL HANDSHAKE

PM’S WIFE BIDS GOODBYE TO HUSBAND PM BHATTARAI WITH A HANDSHAKE
Kathmandu, 8 Nov.: In another first, Hishila Yami bid goodbye to her husband Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday at the capital’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at a formal sendoff with a hands

shake.
She didn’t accompany her husband to Maldives to attend the 17th SAARC summit.
A handshake by a wife dressed in a suit isn’t traditional Nepali style of sendoff for a spouse.
Yami attended the UN general assembly session September with her husband dressed in a suit; she and her husband PM Bhattarai attended a reception hosted by US President Barack Obama and the US first lady in New York dressed in western suits.
