PRACHANDA, UN CHIEF MEET IN NEW YORK TUESDAY

Kathmandu, 8 Nov.: Maoist Chairman Prachanda and UN
Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon are holding consultations in
New York Tuesday night.
The Maoist chief said he’ll ask the UN chief to launch an
international appeal to help implement the 7-point agreement
with ruling parties and two opposition parties to conclude the peace process and constitution drafting.
Before departing for New York, Prachanda said the twin processes can be implemented only with international assistance.
Fibe European states have been channeling financial assistance through UN and the
peace ministry to manage the changeover from monarchy to a
republic.
EU is now in deep financial crisis/
Both processes have been delayed.
Prachanda will ask the UN chief to be coordinator of an international effort to develop Luumbini, birthplace of The Buddha.
