DEATH FAST CALLED OFF

Kathmandu, 26 Nov.: The conflict-hit Army Police National Struggle Committee (APNSC) has postponed the programme of fast-onto-death to create conducive environment for dialogue with the government.

Committee’s coordinator Surya Bahadur Ghimire said the programme of fast-unto-death started from November 21 was withdrawn by considering the dialogue held with the officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He, however, said that other protest programmes would remain as usual and added the hunger-strike was withdrawn for few days following the request of the Ministry’s officials.

Ghimire said they decided to withdraw the hunger-strike after a dialogue held with the Chief District Officer (CDO) Ratna Raj Pandey of Kathmandu district last night.

The committee has demanded to provide due compensation to the families of conflict-hit among other demands.

NA DEFUSES BOMB AT A HOUSE EMPORIUM IN KALAIYA BAZZAR

Kathmandu, 26 Nov.:: A team of the Nepal Army defused a socket bomb planted at the Asha Emporium in Kalaiya Bazaar Friday evening by an unknown group, RSS reports from Kalaiya.

People in the market had closed down shops after the rumor of the bomb planted at Kalaiya Bazaar that is usually crowded.

A team from the Durga Bhanjan Company of the Nepal Army in Kalaiya had defused the bomb after taking it a little away from Kalaiya Bazaar after it was confirmed that there was bomb inside a bag kept at the Asha Emporium.
