FURTHER DETAILS OF PRACHANDA, UN CHIEF MEET

Kathmandu, 9 Nov.: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Wednesday morning assured support for the development of Lumbini, the
birthplace of The Buddha at a meeting with Maoist Chairman
Prachanda in New York at UN headquarters.
The UN chief welcomed
the 7-point agreement between ruling parties and two opposition parties NC and UML to complete the peace process and constitution drafting.
NC leader Dr. Manindra Rijal was present at the meeting.
Prachanda UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon held discussions in New York UN headquarters Wednesday morning.

17TH SAARC SUMMIT STARTS IN MALDIVES THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 9 Nov.: The two-day 17th SAARC summit begins in Maldives Thursday.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai reached Maldives to lead a
11-member Nepali team at the summit.
Nepal will host the 18th South Asian regional summit.
Eight member states willendorsse four agreements at the summit.
